Dr. Rajeev Bindal Accuses Congress of Undermining Democracy and Constitution
1 min readSirmaur, 25 January: BJP State President Dr. Rajeev Bindal launched a scathing attack on Congress, accusing the party of repeatedly disrespecting and neglecting the contributions of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution.
Dr. Bindal stated that Dr. Ambedkar, one of the most brilliant minds of his time, was compelled to resign from Nehru’s cabinet despite his pivotal role in drafting the Constitution. He further alleged that Congress worked relentlessly to defeat Dr. Ambedkar in the 1952 elections, with Jawaharlal Nehru himself campaigning against him.
Criticizing former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Dr. Bindal accused her of imposing an Emergency to protect her political position, violating the Constitution, suppressing the media, and curbing democratic rights. He highlighted that over one lakh political leaders and activists were jailed during this period.
Dr. Bindal also accused Congress of misusing Article 356, advocating religion-based reservations, and making constitutional amendments solely to benefit their party. He stated that Congress now ironically praises the same Constitution it has historically undermined.
