He stated that the entire nation mourns this great loss. Rising from a small village to studying and serving at some of the world’s most prestigious institutions, Dr. Manmohan Singh left an indelible mark on the nation’s economic and political landscape.

As an economist, Dr. Singh is hailed as the architect of India’s economic liberalization in 1991, which transformed the country’s economy and placed it on the global map.
