Dr. Kamal Atwal Appointed President of Rotary Royal Solan, Announces Key Projects for 2025

Solan, January 13, 2025: Rotary Royal Solan hosted its Charter Presentation and Award Distribution Ceremony at Himani Hotel, Solan. The event began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by speeches from distinguished guests including District Governor Rotarian Rajpal Singh, Past District Governor Rotarian Arun Mongia, and Rotarian Ajay Yadav.

During the ceremony, Dr. Kamal Atwal was appointed as the new President, and Rotarian Manish Tomar was appointed as the Secretary of the club. Dr. Atwal emphasized the club’s commitment to serving humanity and outlined several key projects for the upcoming year. These include eye-checkup camps for commercial drivers, organ donation camps, an artificial limb bank, anti-drug campaigns, blood donation drives, tree plantation, and the construction of rain shelters.

Rotarian Manish Tomar presented the report of the club’s activities, highlighting successful initiatives like distributing baby health kits, organizing heartline projects, blanket distribution in winter, and conducting health camps. The club also ran the Tara Project and planted trees as part of their ongoing community efforts.

Several individuals were recognized for their outstanding contributions, including:
– Vedanshi Sharma, a 12-year-old author, honored for her remarkable achievement in writing a book.
– Kartik Sharma, singer with the Himachal Pradesh Police Orchestra, for his contributions to music.
– Sahil Rana, a content creator, for gaining national recognition through his YouTube channel “S Gaming.”
– The late Shri Vinod Gupta, an industrialist, awarded the “Rotary Royal Excellence Award” posthumously for his contributions to healthcare and regional development.

District Governor Rotarian Rajpal Singh praised the club’s efforts and encouraged new members to contribute to community development. New members, including Dr. Anubha Ojha, Dr. Saurabh Sharma, Dr. Vinod Chauhan, Subhash Chauhan, and Rajneesh Sood, were also pinned and motivated to serve society.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Project Chairman Rotarian Arun Trehan.
