Double Trouble, a comedy play staged at the Gaiety Theatre and directed by Ajay Sharma, was a light-hearted and entertaining performance that had the audience laughing throughout. The story follows Dev Single, a man leading a double life by being secretly married to two women. Things spiral into chaos when he ends up in the hospital after an altercation with a drunk old woman, and both wives file missing person complaints. The confusion reaches a peak when the police get involved, and due to mismatched addresses from the hospital, they end up at different homes—setting off a chain of hilarious misunderstandings.
The performances were largely enjoyable, with Anil standing out in his role as Stanley, bringing great energy and comic timing to the stage. However, the actresses playing the two wives could have delivered stronger performances to match the pace and tone of the play. While the direction kept the story moving, there were a few noticeable lapses in detail. For example, turmeric milk offered to Dev was clearly just juice, and a glass left in one location appeared in another, breaking continuity.
Despite these minor issues, the play offered a joyful, laughter-filled evening. Its humorous plot and engaging moments made it a delightful experience for the audience, proving that a few imperfections don’t stand in the way of good entertainment.
