District Mineral Foundation Trust Meeting Held Under Sanjay Awasthi’s Chairmanship
1 min readSolan – A district-level meeting of the Mineral Foundation Trust was held today under the chairmanship of Chief Parliamentary Secretary (Public Works, Health & Family Welfare, and Information & Public Relations) Sanjay Awasthi. He stated that Solan district has a mineral fund of approximately ₹116 crore, with 508 projects approved under it. Out of these, 116 projects have been completed, while 98 are in progress. The work on 280 additional projects will commence soon.
Awasthi highlighted that the trust aims to implement various developmental and welfare schemes in mining-affected areas. He explained that areas within a 5-kilometer radius of mining activities are classified as directly affected, while areas within 5 to 15 kilometers are considered indirectly affected. The funds will be used for the development of people in these regions.
He instructed officials to promptly complete pending estimates for development works and submit them to the mining department for budget allocation. The meeting also discussed development work completed in previous years and over 300 new projects.
The meeting was also attended by Kasauli MLA Vinod Sultanpuri and Nalagarh MLA Hardeep Singh Bawa, who shared their views. Deputy Commissioner Manmohan Sharma chaired the session, and District Mining Officer Harvindra Singh welcomed the chief guest.
