District-Level Under-14 Athletics and Cultural Competition Held at Rajkiya Utkrisht Varishth Madhyamik Paathshala, Junga

Shimla, September 22, : A four-day district-level Under-14 athletics and cultural competition was successfully organized at Rajkiya Utkrisht Varishth Madhyamik Paathshala, Junga. This event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of nearly 800 children from various schools across the district. The competition featured events in handball, hockey, basketball, football, athletics, and cultural programs.
In the football boys’ competition, Junga School secured the first position, while they achieved second place in hockey. Similarly, in basketball, SPs Sarahan clinched the first position, with Government Senior Secondary School Dodra securing second place. Wrestling saw Government Senior Secondary School Mundu securing the first position and Sunni coming in second.
In boxing and athletics, Rajkiya Utkrisht Varishth Madhyamik Paathshala, Rohru, claimed the top position. The debate competition saw High School Khadot bagging first place, and Matiyana securing second place. Rohru and MPSS Mashobra achieved first place in solo and group singing, respectively. In classical and folk dance, Rohru and MPS Mashobra were again the first-place winners.
The concluding ceremony of the event was presided over by District Council Member Santosh Sharma, who distributed awards to the winners and runners-up. The school’s principal, Suman Chandel, expressed her gratitude to all dignitaries for their support in managing the district-level sports and cultural competition. She highlighted that the event included competitions in handball, hockey, basketball, football, athletics, and cultural programs.
Key dignitaries present at the event included ADO Neera Kalthaik, Sports Officer Nandalal Sharma, Yashveer Chauhan, Kaushalya Verma, and the Chief of Physical Education Teachers Association, Lalit Chauhan. Naresh Sharma efficiently conducted the event as the stage manager. The occasion also featured vibrant cultural performances presented by the children.
