District-Level Narcotics Coordination Center Meeting Held in Shimla

Shimla, November 22, 2024: A district-level Narcotics Coordination Center (NCORD) meeting was convened at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Shimla under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap.

Emphasizing the need for collective action and dialogue to combat the rising drug menace, Kashyap directed officials to enhance coordination among departments and stakeholders. Suggestions to curb drug trafficking and its associated issues were discussed in detail.

The DC also announced the formation of a coordination committee between the Education and Health Departments to run anti-drug campaigns in schools and colleges. Additionally, the Forest Department was instructed to monitor drug trafficking through forest routes.

Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi highlighted the police department’s ongoing efforts against narcotics in the district. Sub-divisional magistrates were tasked with initiating anti-drug campaigns at the sub-division level.

Prominent attendees included ADC Abhishek Verma, ASP Navdeep Singh, SDMs, DSPs, DFOs, the Chief Medical Officer, and other officials.
