Mandi, July 19 : Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur visited the disaster-hit Chhatri region in his Seraj constituency on July 19, 2025. Emotionally recalling his early days when he had to cross rivers using wooden bridges (Diffi), he said the June 30 calamity has pushed the region 30 years back. Thakur distributed relief material and assured all possible support to the affected families. He highlighted the severe damage to houses, roads, and fertile land, especially in villages like Manjhigaad, Bilagaad, Bhalati, and Thensar. Expressing concern about the apple harvest, he urged the government to expedite road restoration, including link roads, to ensure that the produce reaches the market on time.
