Disaster Preparedness Boosted for Manimahesh Yatra 2025: DC Chamba Issues Strict Directives

Chamba, July 20, 2025 — In light of public safety and disaster preparedness for the upcoming Manimahesh Yatra commencing August 16, 2025, the Deputy Commissioner and Chairperson of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Chamba, has issued stringent orders to multiple departments.

Key infrastructure tasks—including road repairs, bridge construction, and water, electricity, and mobile connectivity—must be completed by August 9. Departments have been instructed to complete mitigation measures across the 13-km high-altitude route from Hadsar to Manimahesh Dal Lake, which is vulnerable to landslides and flash floods.

Any delay without prior written approval from the DC’s office will invite action under Sections 51, 55, and 56 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
