DIG Cyber Crime Mohit Chawla Honored for Meritorious Service in Delhi
1 min readShimla, July 9, 2024: IPS Officer Mohit Chawla, DIG Cyber Crime, Himachal Pradesh, has been awarded another prestigious honor for his commendable service, marking a proud moment for the state. Mohit Chawla’s brother will accept the award on his behalf at the ceremony in Delhi.
Chawla, a 2010 batch IPS officer of the Himachal Pradesh cadre, has an impressive academic and professional background. Originating from Akhara, Kullu, his family now resides in Haryana. He holds a commerce degree and a postgraduate degree in economics from Punjab University, and has cleared UGC-NET and JRF. His educational pursuits continued with a postgraduate diploma in Cyber Law from IGNOU and an honorary doctorate in public administration from IEC University for his contributions to social services.
Throughout his career, Chawla has held various key positions across Himachal Pradesh, including ASP Kangra, SP Mandi, and SP Solan, among others. He has been recognized with numerous accolades, such as the ‘Pratibha Samman’ from the Haryana government in 2013, several ‘DGP Discs,’ and appreciation from the Governor of HP.
Before joining the IPS, Chawla worked in various capacities in both private and government sectors, gaining invaluable public service experience. His exceptional leadership and dedication to duty have earned him multiple awards, including national recognition as one of the top 50 most admired police captains by ‘Fame India’ in 2021.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Chawla will not be able to attend the award ceremony in person, and his brother, Manish Chopra, will represent him.
