The Dharamshala-Chandigarh flight service, which was temporarily suspended due to the off-season for tourism, will now resume from 22nd September instead of the originally planned date of 1st September. People had been eagerly awaiting the start of this flight service since the past one and a half months. However, the airline company has once again made changes to the flight schedule. According to online booking sites, the flight on the Dharamshala-Chandigarh route will depart from Gaggal at 9:45 AM and arrive in Chandigarh at 10:55 AM. The return flight from Chandigarh will take off at 10:55 AM and land at Gaggal Airport at 11:55 AM.
It’s worth noting that the suspension of the only direct flight on the Dharamshala-Chandigarh route in July had caused significant inconvenience to travelers. During this time, travelers going to Chandigarh had to either take a helicopter taxi via Shimla or use other means to reach Chandigarh and Dharamshala. This resulted in wasted time and financial losses for them.
The reason for this inconvenience was that the fare for the connected flight ranged from 10,000 to 15,000 rupees, whereas the helicopter taxi from Gaggal Airport to Chandigarh operates only three days a week. The helicopter taxi charged travelers up to 6,800 rupees. With the resumption of the direct flight service from 22nd September, travelers on the Chandigarh-Dharamshala route will benefit significantly.
The fare for the Dharamshala-Chandigarh route will start from 3,458 rupees. The flight covers the distance in 50 to 60 minutes. The flight by Alliance Air will depart from Gaggal Airport to Chandigarh at 9:45 AM, arriving at 10:35 AM. The return flight from Chandigarh will take off at 10:55 AM and land at Gaggal Airport at 11:55 AM.
