Dhananjay Chanta Finishes Top 32 at World Youth TT Contender

Young table tennis talent Dhananjay Singh Chanta delivered an impressive performance at the World Table Tennis Youth Contender and Feeder Vadodara 2026, organised by the Sports Authority of Gujarat, held from January 2 to January 11. The prestigious international tournament witnessed the participation of around 334 players from 10 countries, making it a highly competitive global sporting event.
Competing against some of the finest young paddlers from across the world, Dhananjay participated in both the Under-17 and Under-19 categories. Displaying remarkable skill, discipline, and composure, he advanced to the Top 32 in both categories, a commendable achievement at an international platform of this scale.
Dhananjay Singh Chanta is the son of Mr. Kushal Chanta and Mrs. Arti Thakur Chanta and hails from village Kaina in Jubbal, district Shimla. His journey in sports reflects dedication and early promise. He completed his schooling in Solan from St. Luke’s School, where his sporting talent began to take shape.
At the young age of 9, Dhananjay participated in his first National Table Tennis Championship in 2018, and just a year later, in 2019, he was selected by the Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) at the age of 10, a rare feat that underlined his exceptional potential.
Since then, Dhananjay has built an impressive competitive record. He has participated in 7 National Table Tennis Championships, 4 CBSE National Table Tennis Championships, and 24 Zonal-level tournaments. His achievements include winning a Bronze Medal at the National Championships in the Under-13 category and clinching the CBSE National Table Tennis Championship title in 2023.
