DFOs Absent from FRA Meeting, DC Anupam Kashyap Takes Strict Notice
1 min readShimla, February 3, 2025 – A district-level meeting on the Forest Rights Act (FRA), 2006, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap, had to be postponed due to the absence of concerned Divisional Forest Officers (DFOs). Despite prior notification on January 27, DFOs from Rohru and Shimla Urban failed to attend the meeting, sending range officers in their place without prior intimation.
The meeting was scheduled to address forest rights for nine villages in Dodra Kwar, road projects in Rohru, and two urban development matters in Shimla. The absence of key officials delayed critical decisions on these projects.
DC Kashyap has raised the issue with the Principal Secretary of the Forest Department and the Chief Conservator of Forests, emphasizing that such negligence hampers governance and delays developmental projects. He warned that disciplinary action would be taken against officials who deliberately obstruct public welfare initiatives.
