Designated Locations Announced for Firecracker Sales in Shimla

Shimla, October 16, 2025:

District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner Shimla have issued an order designating specific locations for the sale of firecrackers in view of the upcoming Diwali festival. The sale of firecrackers will be strictly prohibited at any place other than the notified sites.

The designated locations include:

• Ice Skating Rink, Shimla
• Baluganj Playground (in front of Gopal Temple)
• Beyond PWD Parking towards Chhota Shimla–Sanjauli road
• Near Trilok Chand Shop, Khalini Bypass
• Himachal Pradesh University Ground, Summerhill
• Open area on the road from Chhota Shimla to Kasumpti
• Open ground near Government Senior Secondary School, Phagli
• Panchayat Ground, Bhatta Kufar
• Bus Stand near Sector 6, Kanganadhar, New Shimla
• Near Police Post, Vikas Nagar
• New Parking, Tutu
• Rani Ground, Kasumpti

The District Magistrate further directed that all vehicles parked at these locations must be removed to prevent any untoward incident. The Shimla Municipal Corporation and the Public Works Department (PWD) will ensure proper marking and setup of stalls, while the Fire Department will provide fire safety arrangements at each site.

The order will remain in force from October 16 to October 21, 2025.
