Deadline Extended to 30th June for PM Suraksha Bima Yojana Compensation Claim

Shimla, 24 June 2025 – The District Magistrate of Shimla, Anupam Kashyap, has informed that the Government of India’s Ministry of Labour and Employment has extended the deadline for claiming compensation under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) to 30th June 2025. This extension applies to e-Shram registered workers who suffered death or disability in accidents on or before 31st March 2022 and were registered on the portal by the same date.

As per the scheme:

  • ₹2 lakh will be granted in the event of the worker’s death or full disability (loss of both legs or one leg and one arm).
  • ₹1 lakh will be granted for partial permanent disability (loss of one organ/limb).

The deadline for settling currently pending or rejected claims has also been extended until 31st July 2025.

Eligible applicants must submit their claims on the e-Shram portal with necessary documents, including:

  • Copy of Aadhaar card
  • UAN (Labour Card Number)
  • Death certificate
  • Medical disability certificate (if applicable)
  • FIR and details of the accident
