Shimla, August 20, 2024: In response to the recent landslide near Baluganj Crossing, which led to the collapse of a rain shelter on the Chorda Maidan road, Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap has called for an emergency meeting at 11 AM today. The meeting will be held at the DC office and will focus on addressing the landslide’s impact on the surrounding area.

Key officials from the affected buildings, including the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Deepak Project, Soil Testing Office, Public Works Department, State Geologist, police, and other relevant departments, will be present at the meeting.

DC Anupam Kashyap highlighted that the landslide has created a significant risk in the nearby areas. As a precaution, the alternative traffic arrangements will remain in place until the situation stabilizes. Traffic from Baluganj to Chhota Shimla will continue to be diverted via Chakkar, and vehicles heading from Baluganj to Chhoda Maidan can also take the Summerhill route.

The Deputy Commissioner has urged residents to cooperate fully with the alternative traffic arrangements and advised those commuting to offices and schools to plan their journeys accordingly.
