DC Sirmaur Removes Panchayat Pradhan, Five Ward Members for Misconduct

Nahan, August 25 – Deputy Commissioner Sirmaur, Priyanka Verma, has declared the Pradhan and five ward members of Gram Panchayat Ashyaadi (Development Block Shillai) disqualified and ordered their removal from office.

The action was taken against Panchayat Pradhan Anil Kumar and ward members Sushma Devi (Ward-1), Pradeep Singh (Ward-2), Kamlesh Devi (Ward-3), Chandrakala (Ward-4), and Khajan Singh (Ward-5) under the Himachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj Act. They were found guilty of misconduct, deriving direct benefits, and negligence in performing their duties.

As per the orders, the disqualified representatives are barred from contesting Panchayati Raj elections for the next six years. They have also been directed to immediately deposit the misused funds into the Panchayat account.
