DC Shimla Reviews Rehabilitation Work for Samej Disaster Victims via Video Conferencing

Shimla, July 30, 2025 –
Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap today reviewed the ongoing rehabilitation efforts for disaster-affected families in Samej area of Sarpara Panchayat, Rampur Sub-Division. For the first time, feedback was gathered directly from Patwaris and Village Development Officers through video conferencing.

The DC held a detailed virtual meeting with SDM, Block Development Officer, revenue officials, and public representatives to accelerate relief work under the 2024 Special Relief Package. The current status of disbursement of aid, issuance of death certificates for those who lost their lives, and pending formalities were discussed at length.

Kashyap directed that there should be no delay in financial assistance under the relief package. He warned that any lapse or negligence in the execution of rehabilitation tasks would attract strict disciplinary action against field staff. He emphasized the need for timely and accurate reporting to senior officials.

He further informed that on July 31, a similar review meeting will be conducted with officials and representatives of the Taklech area.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Verma, ADM (Protocol) Jyoti Rana, ADM (Law & Order) Pankaj Sharma, and District Revenue Officer Sanjeet Sharma were also present during the session.
