DC Reviews Aspirational Block Programme in Shimla

Shimla, 07 February – Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap reviewed the progress of the Aspirational Block Programme in Shimla district. The programme aims to improve the quality of life in underdeveloped blocks by focusing on health, nutrition, education, drinking water, sanitation, agriculture, financial inclusion, and infrastructure.
In Shimla district, Chhohara and Kupvi blocks have been selected for development under this initiative. Kupvi block consists of 15 panchayats and 145 villages, while Chhohara block has 32 panchayats and 132 villages. Work is being carried out based on 39 key indicators set by NITI Aayog.
Kashyap emphasized the need for better coordination among departments to avoid delays in development projects. He urged officials to work together to ensure that people in these areas receive improved basic facilities.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Verma, Additional District Magistrate (Protocol) Jyoti Rana, District Development Officer Kirti Chandel, and other officials.
