Shimla, January 9, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap directed revenue officials to ensure time-bound disposal of pending partition (takseem) and other revenue-related cases in Shimla district by March 31, 2026, as per the Chief Minister’s instructions.
Chairing a meeting via video conference with SDMs, tehsildars and naib tehsildars, the DC said hearings for takseem cases will be held three days a week—Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday—ensuring 12 hearing days every month. A review of progress will be conducted every Saturday and the monthly progress report will be sent to the Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue).
The DC also instructed the Revenue Department to submit complete details of private, forest and government land, along with case-wise data of pending matters in revenue courts, including case type and duration of pendency. He said Shimla district had 1,355 partition cases, out of which 12 were settled through Lok Adalats held on January 6, 2026. Officials were directed to accelerate disposal of all pending revenue and correction-related matters within the deadline.
