DC launches ‘Help Module’ to avoid duplication of financial assistance for wedding of poor girls

Dharamshala, Mar 3 – The Kangra district administration has taken another new initiative by taking forward its campaign to make governance more transparent and processes simple and easy with the use of information technology.

DC Kangra Dr. Nipun Jindal in this connection inaugurated the ‘Help Module’ in Dharamshala on Friday. This module, prepared for inter-departmental use by the District NIC team, will be helpful in solving the problem of duplication in financial assistance provided by temples for the marriage of daughters of poor families.
The Deputy Commissioner said that financial assistance is provided for the marriage of daughters of poor families through big temples located in Kangra district. This assistance is given through the Deputy Commissioner Office, Temple Officer Office and Assistant Commissioner Temple and SDM Office. Deputy Commissioner Kangra Dr Nipun Jindal told UNI that it is our endeavor to provide this assistance to as many needy people as possible. There should be no duplication, and there should be no repeated applications for assistance in the same case from different offices. This financial assistance module has been prepared to make this arrangement.
Dr. Nipun Jindal said that in this module the complete details of the financial assistance provided by the temples to the applicants in the district will be uploaded, so that when any new application comes, there will be a facility to check the data from the Aadhaar card number regarding the previously received assistance.
He said that there will be information in the office related to this whether the applicant has been helped in this before or not. He said that this system will provide a permanent solution to the problem of duplication in providing financial assistance and a systematic record will also be maintained.
It may be mentioned that with the aim of providing easy services to the people by the Kangra district administration, the initiatives of making good use of information technology (IT) in the district and making public useful apps have been appreciated across the country. Deputy Commissioner Kangra told UNI that the district has been awarded National Award for developing application e-catch for digitization of election expenditure monitoring in Kangra district by using innovative initiative and best use of information technology in Himachal Vidhansabha Election 2022.
Due to the innovativeness and efficiency of this initiative, it was also adjudged as the Best Election Initiative in All India in the IT Sector, he disclosed.
He said that the other useful apps including Apna Kangra App, an inter-departmental app designed to look after the cases of Pong Dam oustees have been developed, which have been helpful in simplification of procedures. Further emphasis is being given in this direction, he said.
Additional District Magistrate Rohit Rathore, District Information Technology Officer Bhupendra Pathak, NIC Director Akshay Mehta and other officers were present on the occasion.
