DC Bilaspur Abid Hussain Sadiq Receives Best Electoral Practices Award-2025

Bilaspur, 25 January: In a proud moment for Himachal Pradesh, Deputy Commissioner of Bilaspur, Abid Hussain Sadiq, was honored with the “Best Electoral Practices Award-2025” by President Droupadi Murmu at the National Voters’ Day ceremony in New Delhi. The award recognized his innovative and exceptional management during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Among 788 districts across India, only 15 were selected for this prestigious award, including Bilaspur and Lahaul-Spiti districts of Himachal Pradesh. Expressing his gratitude, DC Sadiq dedicated the award to the people of Bilaspur, stating, “This achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of all officers and employees of the district. It is a proud moment for Bilaspur.”
Bilaspur’s electoral management set an example nationwide, adding 4,473 new voters under SVEEP initiatives and organizing special awareness campaigns to boost voter turnout. Efforts in low-turnout areas resulted in over 70% voting across the district’s four assembly constituencies.
This success highlights effective polling station management, innovation, and public engagement, bringing national recognition to Bilaspur.
