Urge Public Cooperation with Alternative Arrangements

Shimla: Late in the evening, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anupam Kashyap and Superintendent of Police (SP) Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi visited the site of a major landslide near Baluganj Crossing. The landslide has caused a significant roadblock, and ongoing debris movement has made the situation precarious.

DC Kashyap stated that the continuous landslide activity makes it unsafe to carry out relief operations, and road restoration cannot proceed until the situation stabilizes. He further noted that the road from Baluganj to Chaura Maidan has also been compromised, leading to the closure of this route for all vehicular traffic.

To manage the situation, the DC announced that traffic from Baluganj to Crossing will now be redirected via Chakkar, while vehicles heading from Baluganj to Chaura Maidan can take the Samerhill route. He urged residents to cooperate fully with the alternative traffic arrangements until the road is restored. DC Kashyap also advised office-goers and schoolchildren to plan their journeys in advance to adapt to the new traffic routes.

The inspection was conducted in the presence of Urban SDM Bhanu Gupta and other officials.
