Cybersecurity Awareness Workshop Held for Govt Employees

Una, Feb 11: On the occasion of Safer Internet Day, a cybersecurity awareness workshop was organized at the Mini Secretariat in Una for government employees. District Informatics Officer (NIC), Bhupinder Singh, provided insights into rising cyber crimes and preventive measures. Over 40 employees from various government departments participated in the session.
Singh highlighted the increasing cases of fraud through the internet and phone calls, stressing the need for vigilance. He discussed threats such as phishing, malware, identity theft, and cyber harassment while emphasizing secure password management, two-factor authentication, and cautious online behavior.
He warned against sharing banking and personal details over suspicious calls, emails, or links and advised employees to be wary of enticing messages from unknown sources. In case of cyber fraud, he recommended filing a complaint on the cyber helpline 1930.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, addressing participants’ concerns on cybersecurity.
