Current Congress Government in Himachal Known for Halting Development: Dr. Rajeev Bindal
2 min readShimla – BJP state president Dr. Rajeev Bindal criticized the current Congress government in Himachal Pradesh, led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, for halting various development projects in the state. Dr. Bindal stated that a government’s reputation is built on its decisions, and this government is known for shutting down institutions and stalling progress.
Dr. Bindal highlighted that as soon as the Sukhu government came to power, it closed over 1100 institutions established by the previous BJP administration. Additionally, the closure of the Hamirpur Staff Selection Commission, which was responsible for job recruitment, has jeopardized the future of millions of youths, with not a single job being provided in the past 19 months.
He further criticized the state government for halting road construction projects. Not only have no new roads been built, but the existing ones have deteriorated into potholes. The government also closed 800 schools, followed by an additional 400 schools this week, adding to its record of closures.
Dr. Bindal pointed out that several welfare schemes have been indirectly shut down, including the Sahara Yojana, which served the poor, and schemes supporting the marriage of girls. Medical assistance programs like Ayushman Bharat and Himcare have also been indirectly discontinued. He mentioned that Atal Adarsh Vidyalayas, which are well-equipped schools, are now being outsourced as a means of closure.
In his press release, Dr. Bindal emphasized that forming, maintaining, and running a government holds no significance if it does not bring comfort and happiness to its people. He accused the current Congress government of engaging in mere politics, causing continuous suffering to the people of Himachal Pradesh.
