CRPF Personnel Get Tips in Horticulture

A two-day practical training cum exposure visit of Central Reserve Police Personnel from CRPF-TOT School Dharampur was organized by the Directorate of Extension Education of Dr. YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni.

The trainees were given theoretical as well as practical knowledge by the scientific faculty of the university in various aspects on nursery raising and propagation techniques like budding and grafting, high-density plantations, time and methods of manure, fertilizer and micronutrient application in fruit crops. The trainees were also informed about pruning and training practices in pome fruits, importance and scope of value addition in fruit crops, and natural farming in vegetable crops.

The scientists also laid special emphasis on training the police personnel on general gardening and how to make dry flower products. Speaking during the valedictory session, Dr. Divender Gupta, Director of Extension Education congratulated Deputy commander Sohan Singh, Inspector Anil Kumar and the jawans for acquiring knowledge and learning skills beyond their call of duty. Dr. Gupta said that the training will be helpful to the trainees in their day-to-day life and also to make the CRPF campus beautiful.

Dr. Chaman Thakur, Joint Director Training, Dr. Anil Sood, Joint Director Communication, Dr. Manica Tomar and training coordinator Dr. Reshma Negi were also present during the training.
