CPS appointment challenged in court

The appointment of 6 parliamentary secretaries by the Sukhu government of the state has been challenged in the High Court. The petition filed by People for Responsible Governance will be taken up for hearing on April 21. In this, a demand has also been made to make all 6 parliamentary secretaries defendants. It has been alleged that all the parliamentary secretaries are posted in the office for profit and are paid more than two lacks per month as salary and allowances. The petition has also sought repeal of the Himachal Parliamentary Secretaries (Appointment, Salary, Allowances, Powers, Privileges and Facilities) Act, 2006.

It should be noted that the Sukhu government of the state has appointed 6 parliamentary secretaries. These include Arki MLA Sanjay Awasthi, Doon MLA Ram Kumar Chaudhary, Rohru MLA Mohan Lal Brakta, Kullu MLA Sundar Thakur, Baijnath MLA Kishori Lal and Palampur MLA Ashish Butail. The main opposition party BJP has also besieged the government at this juncture.
