Couple on Hunger Strike Over Toilet Construction Dispute

Bilaspur, September 30: A couple in the village of Ramapur Khansara in the gram panchayat of Raghunathpura in the district has been on a hunger strike for the past seven days due to the construction of a toilet. Their health deteriorated, and the administration shifted them to the hospital.

According to available information, the couple wanted to construct a toilet in their home, but some individuals were opposing it, forcing the couple to take this drastic step. The head of the gram panchayat, Monu Devi, mentioned that before this, the couple had informed the Bilaspur district administration. The district administration had also issued orders for the construction of the toilet. However, as soon as the construction began, some people opposed it, leading to the couple’s decision to go on a hunger strike.

On Saturday, the health of the couple deteriorated significantly, and they were shifted to the hospital by ambulance. The gram panchayat head has also requested the administration to resolve the land dispute at the earliest.
