Constitution Day observed with insightful lectures and competitions at Shoolini Univ

The Faculty of Legal Science at Shoolini University marked Constitution Day (Samvidhan Diwas) with a series of engaging activities, following the directives of the University Grants Commission (UGC). The event featured Prof. Rattan Singh, a scholar from UILS, Panjab University, as the resource person.
The programme began with a welcome address by Prof. Nandan Sharma, Associate Dean of Law, he highlighted the importance of understanding and upholding the Indian Constitution. Dr. Sharma also emphasised the role of the constitution in an equitable society.
Prof. Rattan Singh delivered a lecture on the framing of the Constitution, the contributions of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, and the concepts of constitutional morality and transformative constitutionalalism. He underscored the significance of the phrase “We, the People of India,” emphasising the power held by citizens in shaping the nation.
Prof. P.K. Khosla, Chancellor Shoolini University, also addressed the gathering. He spoke about the relevance of the Constitution in modern society and drew parallels between Newton’s Third Law of Motion and the doctrine of Karma.
Students actively participated in various competitions organised to celebrate Constitution Day. Sana and Mannat secured first and second positions, respectively, in the poster-making competition. In the essay writing competition, Ojaswini and Tanya emerged as the top two winners. The quiz competition concluded with Pihu and Muskan claiming the top spot.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Monika Thakur, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Legal Science. Dr. Thakur expressed gratitude to all participants and emphasised the significance of celebrating such occasions to promote responsible citizenship.
