Congressising Education Will Not Be Tolerated: Jairam Thakur

1 min read

Shimla Nov 23

Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur accused the state government of politicising the education system instead of making it employment-oriented. He criticized a recently published 72-page booklet by the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education, claiming that nearly 40 pages were filled with congratulatory messages from Congress leaders, while the Education Minister’s message was missing.

Thakur also alleged that the booklet ignored national icons like Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel and said government resources were being misused for political promotion rather than improving students’ futures. He urged the government to stop “Congressisation” of education, clear pending dues of teachers, restart stalled skill development programmes, and implement the National Education Policy effectively for job-oriented learning.
