Bilaspur, April 16, 2025: BJP MLA and former minister Trilok Jamwal launched a scathing attack on the Congress party, stating that while they have the democratic right to hold protests across the country, they do not have the right to loot public land and misuse party funds.

Jamwal referred to the National Herald case, emphasizing that the newspaper, launched in 1937, originally had 5,000 shareholders and was not a private property of the Nehru-Gandhi family. He said many prominent freedom fighters had contributed to the venture. The publication ceased in 2008 due to financial issues.

Following this, the Congress party allegedly gave Rs. 90 crore to Associated Journals Limited (AJL), which published the newspaper. “Being a political party, Congress enjoys various privileges, but it cannot legally fund a private entity,” he said.

He accused Congress of orchestrating a corporate conspiracy to transfer the Herald’s assets into the hands of the Gandhi family. Jamwal claimed that a company named *Young India* was formed with 38% shares each owned by Sonia and Rahul Gandhi. Equity shares worth Rs. 9 crore were transferred to this company, effectively giving it control of Herald’s vast real estate assets, including prime properties in Delhi, Lucknow, Mumbai, Bhopal, and Patna.

Although Congress described *Young India* as a charitable trust, Jamwal questioned what charitable work had actually been done. He further alleged that Congress cleared a Rs. 90 crore loan for just Rs. 50 lakh, thus seizing property worth thousands of crores. “Another Gandhi family member bought land worth Rs. 3 crore in Haryana and sold it for Rs. 58 crore—this is the real Gandhi Model of Development,” he said.

Jamwal concluded by highlighting the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) investigation into the matter, which included questioning of Motilal Vora, Pawan Bansal, Sonia Gandhi, and Rahul Gandhi. The ED has reportedly submitted its findings to the court under Section 8.
