Congress Sought High Level Fair probe into forged registration of vehicles in Kangra district
2 min readShimla, Feb. 11- The Himachal Pradesh State Congress Vice President and Sujanpur MLA Rajinder Rana has demanded a high level fair probe into the registration of hundreds of vehicles allegedly with fictitious documents in Kangra district that had unearthed following the direction of the State Transport department authorities. He said it seemed that a big racket in getting registered luxury vehicles from outside the state had been sheltered politically in the state. The government should immediately order an impartial high level inquiry by constituting an SIT so that nexus between the so called agents and government authorities could be exposed.
Rana said after a forged degree scam by a private university another forgery in Vehicle registration had exposed the Jai Ram government which had been claiming honest and transparent administration in the state. He said it was astonishing that the vehicle registration mafia was active right from Palampur and bordering sub divisions Nurpur and Indora but the state government was a silent spectator.
“The government authorities have blacklisted and are going to cancel registration certificates of the vehicles which had been registered with forged documents but no action was being taken against the actual culprits responsiblefor the fictitious document based entries,” he said. He questioned if vehicle owners had submitted forged ID proofs with tempered Adhar Cards then how they would be traced to verify their fictitious documents. He also suspected some inter-state gang behind this scam which had caused huge loss to the state exchequer with evasion of road tax that was 3 percent in the state and 9 percent in
neighboring Punjab.
