Congress Pays Tribute to Former CM Virbhadra Singh on His 91st Birth Anniversary

Shimla: On the 91st birth anniversary of six-time Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, the late Virbhadra Singh, Congress leaders, office bearers, and workers across the state paid homage by offering floral tributes to his portrait. At the Pradesh Congress headquarters, Rajiv Bhavan, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, along with other leaders, honored Virbhadra Singh’s legacy, describing him as a source of inspiration and acknowledging his significant contribution to the development of modern Himachal Pradesh.

Chief Minister Sukhu emphasized that continuing Virbhadra Singh’s vision and development initiatives is a priority for the Congress party. He expressed that Virbhadra Singh’s progressive ideas and work would be the true homage to him.

State Congress President and former MP, Pratibha Singh, also spoke on the occasion, highlighting Virbhadra Singh’s crucial role in the state’s development. She noted that while the first Chief Minister of the state, Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar, laid the foundation, Virbhadra Singh would always be remembered as the architect of modern Himachal Pradesh. Pratibha Singh emphasized that the ideals of these leaders continue to guide the party.

Leaders and officials present at the event included PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh, State Finance Commission Chairman Nand Lal, CPS Mohan Lal Brakta, MLA Harish Janartha, Chief Minister’s Media Advisor Naresh Chauhan, Forest Corporation Chairman Kehar Singh Khachi, and many others. They offered their heartfelt tributes to Virbhadra Singh’s portrait.

On this occasion, Virbhadra Singh’s daughter, retired Chief Justice and former Lok Pal member Abhilasha Singh, also paid her respects at the Pradesh Congress headquarters.
