Congress Party Gears Up for Lok Sabha Elections After Conclusion of Winter Session

Shimla, Dec 24 :The Congress party has convened a crucial meeting in Delhi on December 27 to strategize and prepare for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections following the conclusion of the winter session. The meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukkhu and attended by Pradesh Congress Committee President Pratibha Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, and other key ministers, will also address coordination between power and organization within the party. Dissatisfied Congress legislators Rajendra Rana and Sudhir Sharma are also expected to attend the meeting.

There have been talks of assigning significant responsibilities to active party functionaries to resolve discontent. Recently, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukkhu visited the residence of former minister Sudhir Sharma for discussions. The meeting is anticipated to bring about changes within the organization and resolve existing disputes. The Delhi meeting coincides with a strategy session of the Congress Working Committee.

National President Mallikarjun Kharge, former National President Sonia Gandhi, and the in-charge of Himachal Pradesh will also be present at the meeting. The Congress party is actively engaged in election preparations, and there are possibilities of organizational reshuffling. The party recently entrusted responsibilities to the Pradesh In-Charges. Rajeev Shukla will continue as the In-Charge of Himachal Pradesh, with additional responsibilities for Chandigarh. Additionally, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukkhu has assured a place in the government for party workers who have been actively associated with the party for the past 25 years. Pradesh Congress Committee President Pratibha Singh has already initiated the deployment of party workers in boards and corporations.
