Congress Leaders Assert Stability of State Government, Slam BJP’s Propaganda
1 min readShimla, November 20, 2024 – In a joint press statement, MLA Suresh Kumar, Ranjit Singh Rana, and Kangra Cooperative Bank Chairman Kuldeep Singh Pathania criticized the recent behavior of Rajendra Rana and Ashish Sharma after their induction into the BJP. They alleged that the duo’s baseless statements are attempts to curry favor with senior BJP leadership but pose a threat to the party’s internal stability.
The Congress leaders reaffirmed the stability of the state government under Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, dismissing BJP’s claims of toppling the government as baseless fantasies. Highlighting Congress’ recent bye-election victories, they stated that the public has decisively rejected “Operation Lotus,” solidifying Congress’ majority to 40 MLAs.
They accused BJP of forming a propaganda group that is harming both the state’s interests and the party’s credibility. Allegations were made against a BJP MLA for involvement in illegal mining, which they labeled a remnant of the “double-engine government’s” era of corruption and resource exploitation.
The Congress leaders claimed that the Sukhu-led government has ended corruption and generated ₹2200 crore in additional revenue in just one year. These funds are being channeled into innovative welfare schemes and fulfilling five of the ten promises made to the public. They emphasized that the cost of implementing these guarantees was less than the additional revenue earned.
