Shimla, Sept 9 – BJP senior spokesperson and MLA Trilok Jamwal slammed the Himachal Pradesh Congress government for issuing what he termed as a “Tughlaqi order” that withdraws financial benefits and grade pay extended to state employees over the past three years. Jamwal alleged that this decision will cause a monthly loss of ₹15,000–₹20,000 to each employee.
He said that where employees across India traditionally receive DA hikes and bonuses during festivals like Diwali and Dussehra, Himachal employees under the Congress rule are instead being handed a “salary cut as a festival gift.”
Jamwal further accused the government of systematically targeting employees and the unemployed since its formation, pointing out the closure of nearly 2,500 institutions in the last two and a half years. He claimed this has not only stalled promotions for existing employees but also deprived nearly 50,000 youths of potential jobs.
He also alleged that the government scrapped around 1.5 lakh backlog posts reserved for SC, ST, and OBC categories and nullified benefits employees had been receiving since 2003 through new legislation.
Calling the move “anti-employee and anti-youth,” Jamwal said, “The Chief Minister says something else but acts otherwise. The decision to cut employee benefits just before Diwali is extremely unfortunate.”
