Congress Govt Even Bigger Disaster than Natural Calamities: Jairam Thakur

1 min read

Dharampur, August 17 – Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur launched a scathing attack on the Congress government during his tour of disaster-affected areas in Dharampur and Cholthra. He accused the government of crossing all limits of corruption during calamities, prioritising friends over the suffering public, and misleading people with false promises of relief packages.

Thakur alleged that the present regime was unprepared for disasters and instead of governance, indulged in “institution transfers” and favouritism. He criticised Chief Minister Sukhu for visiting affected regions late, said that people were left to starve without timely relief, and claimed that crores of central aid were misused.

Accusing Congress leaders of amassing wealth and building lavish houses even during crises, he termed the government a “disaster in itself.” Thakur also distributed relief worth over ₹21 lakh among 84 affected families and expressed gratitude for the help sent to his constituency, Seraj.
