Modi Government Has Given New Wings to the Aspirations of Jammu and Kashmir: Anurag Thakur

March 30, 2024, Jammu:

Anurag Singh Thakur, the Minister of Information and Broadcasting, and Youth Affairs and Sports, was on a visit to Jammu and Kashmir today. During his visit, he participated in local programs in Jammu’s Indira Chowk and Katra, with the nomination rally of Jammu’s MP and BJP candidate Jugal Kishore being the main event. During this time, Anurag Thakur, along with BJP’s Jammu and Kashmir President Ravinder Raina, Co-in-charge Ashish Sood, and other dignitaries, addressed massive public gatherings, urging the people to re-elect Jugal Kishore as the Member of Parliament, crossing the 400-mark this time.

Anurag Thakur said, “Prime Minister Modi has a special affection for Jammu and Kashmir, which is why he abrogated Article 370 and 35A. The Modi government has given new wings to the development of Jammu and Kashmir, fulfilling the aspirations of its people. Today, there has been a significant reduction, up to 75%, in terrorist incidents in Jammu and Kashmir, and stone-pelting has stopped. There has been a reduction of up to 81% in civilian casualties and up to 50% in security personnel casualties. All this has been possible only because of Prime Minister Modi’s strong leadership.”

Anurag Thakur further stated, “Narendra Modi has brought the river of development to Jammu and Kashmir. Whether it is the 6-lane highway from Jammu to Katra, IIT, IIM, or AIIMS hospital, 11 medical colleges, or many central schools, all major projects have now come to Jammu and Kashmir. New industries are coming up due to the new industrial package, providing new opportunities for employment and self-employment.”

During the rallies, while interacting with the media, Anurag Thakur also answered various political questions. Targeting the Congress, Anurag Thakur said that the Congress is a political party that resides in arrogance. “While all other political parties comply with income tax laws, should separate laws be made for Congress? Is it not the case that the Congress has flouted the law? They only needed to file income tax returns. Moreover, they have taken a huge amount of cash without any disclosure. They have gone to court and appellate authorities for relief, but they have not received any relief from anywhere. This clearly means that the Congress party has violated the country’s laws.”

Anurag Thakur continued, “To improve their corrupt image, the Congress changed their name from UPAA to India Alliance. However, this has not benefitted them in any way. Today, even after their leader’s house is found with more than 350 crores in cash, Congress leaders are shamelessly defending themselves. In Delhi, Congress accused Kejriwal of a liquor scam, but when action was taken against Kejriwal, Congress stood by him.”
