Congress Candidate Kamlesh Thakur Deceiving Voters in Dehra By-Election: Vikram Thakur

Dehra, 4 July:
Congress candidate Kamlesh Thakur is attempting to deceive voters in the Dehra Assembly by-election by making false promises. Kamlesh Thakur, a native of Nalsuha village in Jaswan Assembly constituency, should clarify what significant work she has accomplished through her husband, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukkhu, during his 15-month tenure. Senior BJP leader, former Industry Minister, and Jaswan-Paragpur Assembly BJP MLA Vikram Thakur launched a political attack on Kamlesh Thakur, highlighting that the construction of an eight-crore road in Nalsuha remains incomplete due to just half a kilometer of unpaved stretch. Thakur accused the person stalling this project of now seeking votes for Kamlesh Thakur in the by-election.
Vikram Thakur further alleged that the political conspiracy to delay the road project became evident during the Dehra by-election. Questioning Kamlesh Thakur’s silence, he asked why she did not raise her voice when SDM offices in Rakkad and Kotla Behar, BDO office in Dadasiba, and the Ayurvedic Community Center in Nalsuha were denotified by her husband. He argued that Kamlesh Thakur failed to fulfill her duties towards her native place.
The former minister criticized Kamlesh Thakur for neglecting her true hometown and attempting to deceive the intellectual voters of Dehra by riding on the political clout of her husband, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukkhu. Taking a jibe, he said that the newly-formed ‘king and queen’ duo of the Congress party is busy enjoying the perks of power. He warned that if Kamlesh Thakur wins the by-election, Congress ministers and MLAs would need to curry favor with the Chief Minister’s wife before meeting Sukhvinder Singh Sukkhu.
Vikram Thakur accused the Chief Minister of openly misusing power to secure his wife’s election victory, alleging the distribution of money and liquor by the Congress party. He also claimed that government employees are being threatened with transfers if they do not vote for Congress, and that transfers of BJP supporters’ relatives to remote areas are being used as a tactic to ensure Kamlesh Thakur’s victory. However, he asserted that such tactics would not succeed.
Labeling BJP candidate Hoshiyar Singh as a son of the soil, Vikram Thakur emphasized that the political struggle against the authoritarian Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukkhu would force the Congress government to face significant challenges. He predicted a definite victory for Hoshiyar Singh in the by-election and suggested that the outcome could threaten Sukhvinder Singh Sukkhu’s position as Chief Minister.
