Coffee Table Book “Himachal Ke Mandir” Released by Deputy CM

Shimla, March 6: A coffee table book titled “Himachal Ke Mandir” showcasing the prominent temples of Himachal Pradesh was released by Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri. The publication has been brought out by the Department of Language Art and Culture Himachal Pradesh to preserve and promote the state’s rich cultural and religious heritage.
Speaking on the occasion, Agnihotri said the book is an important initiative to showcase the deep-rooted “Dev Sanskriti” of the state to national and international audiences. He noted that Himachal Pradesh has historically been regarded as the land of sages and spiritual traditions, where almost every village is associated with a local deity.
The coffee table book documents 51 prominent temples across the state, featuring their historical background, photographs, district maps, and approximate locations. Temples included in the publication feature renowned shrines such as Shri Naina Devi Temple, Jwala Ji Temple, Chintpurni Temple, Hidimba Devi Temple, Tara Devi Temple, Renuka Mata Temple, and Shoolini Mata Temple, among others.
The publication compiles cultural and historical information about major temples across different districts and is expected to be a valuable reference for researchers, tourists, cultural enthusiasts, and devotees.
Among those present on the occasion were former Education Minister Asha Kumari, Chamba Sadar MLA Neeraj Nayar, Secretary (Language & Culture) Rakesh Kanwar, Director Seema Kashyap, Joint Director Manu Gupta, OSD to Deputy CM Dhanbir Thakur, Assistant Director Suresh Rana, and Sunila Thakur.
