Appreciates Kangra’s Performance in Kayakalp Program
Dharamshala, July 16 – Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Rajesh Guleri has instructed all medical officers in Kangra district to inspect ultrasound machines in their respective institutions. Chairing a district-level review meeting at Zonal Hospital on Wednesday, Dr. Guleri praised the district’s exemplary performance in the Kayakalp initiative.
Dr. Guleri informed that 131 health institutions in Kangra have qualified under various categories of the Kayakalp standards this year. In Category-1, Civil Hospital Palampur secured first place with a prize of ₹35 lakh, followed by Zonal Hospital Dharamshala in second place, while Civil Hospital Kangra received a consolation prize for its first-time participation.
In Category-2, CHC Bir received a consolation prize of ₹1 lakh.
Under Category-3, PHC Dhadun (Ayushman Arogya Mandir) earned first place with ₹2 lakh. Other top-performing institutions included Ayushman Arogya Mandir Kot Palahdi (Nurpur Health Block – 1st), Dhandol (Mahakal Block – 2nd), and Vadoohi (Nurpur Block – 3rd).
The CMO also reviewed key government health schemes such as TB elimination, RBSK, RKSK, PM-SHRI, and the Universal Immunization Program, and issued directives to all BMOs to strengthen the implementation of these initiatives.
The meeting was attended by MS Zonal Hospital Dr. Anuradha Sharma, DTO Dr. Rajesh Sood, SMO Kangra, District Program Officer, BMOs, and other staff. The session was conducted by Dr. Rajesh Sood, District Health Officer and DTO.
