Shimla, April 15, 2025:
Former Himachal Pradesh BJP president and MP Suresh Kashyap slammed Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, accusing him of spending more time blaming the previous BJP government than working for the state’s development. “The CM and his close circle wake up each day just to criticise the previous BJP regime. If they’re doing anything else, it certainly isn’t visible,” Kashyap said.
He reminded the Chief Minister that the current government is led by Congress, and any failures now are solely the responsibility of the ruling party. “You were an MLA even during the previous tenures and knew the realities, but your hunger for power blinded you. Now that you’re in power, all you see is fault,” he added.
Kashyap pointed out that the Centre allocates over ₹11,000 crore annually to Himachal Pradesh, and the state government should be thankful. “Congress leaders say it’s our right—but rights come with contributions, which the state hasn’t made to the Centre’s funds,” he noted.
He further alleged that the previous Congress-led central governments were known for toppling state governments, withholding funds, imposing emergency, and indulging in divisive politics. “In contrast, the BJP-led Centre is focused on positive and constructive governance,” Kashyap asserted.
