Cleanliness Drive in Shimla Collects 120 Kg Plastic Under ‘Mera Bharat – Meri Zimmedari’ Initiative

Shimla, March 26, 2026:
A large-scale cleanliness drive was conducted in Shimla under the “Mera Bharat – Meri Zimmedari” initiative to pay tribute to martyrs. The campaign was jointly organized by My Bharat Shimla volunteers, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, and Sports & Cultural Association Shimla.
Volunteers carried out an intensive cleaning drive from Ridge to Jakhu Temple, collecting around 120 kg of plastic waste, mainly single-use plastic. The initiative aimed to promote cleanliness and raise awareness about environmental protection.
Participants also educated the public about the harmful effects of single-use plastic and emphasized the collective responsibility to keep Shimla clean and green.
