Shimla, March 29, 2025 – BJP spokesperson Chetan Bragta launched a scathing attack on the Congress government, accusing it of plunging Himachal Pradesh into crime, mafia rule, and financial distress. Speaking after BJP’s massive rally, which he claimed had shaken the state government, Bragta said that public anger against corruption and misgovernance was at its peak and the government would not last long.
He alleged that law and order had collapsed, with criminals receiving protection from the Congress regime. The horticulture sector, a crucial part of Himachal’s economy, was also under threat due to the unregulated import of apple plants, which he claimed had introduced dangerous viruses and pests into local orchards. Despite this, the government remained silent on the issue.
Bragta further accused the Congress government of rampant corruption across all departments, from food supply to education and healthcare. He claimed that bribery and scams were at an all-time high, benefiting Congress leaders and their associates.
Highlighting Himachal’s growing debt, he stated that the state was now burdened with over ₹1 lakh crore in loans, and the government was imposing new taxes and increasing inflation to cover up its failures.
