Certification is mandatory for publishing promotional advertisements on Nov 11 and 12

Hamirpur, Nov 5 – Deputy Commissioner cum District Election Officer Debashweta Banik said today that in order to publish the advertisements in the print media on the day of polling for the assembly and a day before it, it was mandatory for the candidates to get the advertisement certified by the District Level Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC).
The District Election Officer said that before the broadcast of any publicity advertisement in electronic media, it was mandatory to get it certified by the District Level Media Certification and Monitoring Committee.
Pre-certification is not necessary for print media, but if a candidate wants to get his advertisement published in print media on the day of polling i.e. on 12th November and a day before the polling on 11th November, then for both these days he has to get his advertisement published in the district level media.
She said that a Certificate from the Certification and Monitoring Committee will have to be obtained. Candidate must apply for this certificate at least two days in advance.
The District Election Officer has appealed to all the candidates and their representatives to take special care of this as it was mandatory under the Election Rules.
