Central Team Assesses Rain Damage in Kullu District

Kullu, Sept 9 – An Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) visited Kullu on Monday to assess losses caused by recent monsoon disasters. The team, led by G. Parthasarathy (Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs), included senior officials from the Jal Shakti Ministry, Road Transport & Highways, HRTC, and disaster management specialists.

During a review meeting at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Deputy Commissioner Torul Raviish presented details of damages to roads, bridges, power lines, transformers, water supply schemes, schools, health centers, agriculture, horticulture land, and government buildings.

Following the meeting, the team inspected affected sites including Solang, Bahang, Old Manali’s Manalsu Nallah, Aleo, Chauribihal, Aloo Ground, Patlikuhal, Chharudu, Lanka Bekar, Inner Akhara Bazaar, and Summa. They also interacted with locals to understand ground realities and hardships faced by disaster-hit families.

The central team assured that the actual damage report will be submitted to the Government of India to expedite relief and rehabilitation measures.
