1 min read

Nerva, Jan 14: On Monday morning, around 10:30 AM, a Maruti Alto car lost control and plunged into a gorge near Diyanadli village, located a short distance from Nerva Bazaar. Of the five occupants, four sustained injuries, while one escaped unhurt.

The victims, traveling from Kupvi to Chopal, faced the accident after the driver lost control near Diyanadli. Locals and passing motorists acted promptly, rescuing the injured and transporting them to the road.

The injured—Bhagmal, Divyansh, Priyanka, and Vanita—were rushed to Civil Hospital Nerva for initial treatment and later referred to Shimla for further care. The fifth passenger, Suresh, escaped unscathed.

Nerva’s Naib Tehsildar, Arjun Singh Parmar, visited the hospital and provided immediate financial assistance of ₹5,000 to each injured person. The police have registered a case and are investigating whether the accident was due to driver error or a technical fault in the vehicle.

This incident highlights the need for safer driving practices and improved road safety measures, especially in the hilly areas between Nerva and Chopal, known for their sharp curves and deep gorges.
