Shimla, December 19, 2024 – A delegation of prominent social, religious, and human rights organizations under the banner of *Defenders of Human Rights* submitted a memorandum to Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, urging United Nations intervention to ensure the safety of Hindu and Buddhist minorities in Bangladesh.
The memorandum demanded the formation of a UN commission to investigate human rights violations, including murder, rape, and temple destruction. It also requested the Nobel Committee to revoke Muhammad Yunus’ Peace Prize.
The delegation called for international condemnation of these atrocities and insisted on measures to safeguard minority communities and rebuild desecrated temples. The Governor assured the memorandum would be forwarded to the President of India for necessary action.
The delegation included representatives from Ram Krishna Mission, RSS, VHP, Umang Foundation, ABVP, and others.
