70 thousand posts are vacant in various departments of Himachal Pradesh. A cabinet sub-committee meeting was held at the state secretariat on Monday. Ministers Jagat Singh Negi and Rohit Thakur brainstormed to create employment opportunities under the chairmanship of Industry Minister Harshvardhan Chauhan.
Industry Minister Harshvardhan Chauhan, chairman of the committee, told that 70,000 posts are vacant in various departments. The sanctioned posts are three lakh. About 20 thousand vacant posts in the education department will be filled first. The committee will meet again on Tuesday. Education Secretary and Law Secretary will be called in the meeting. In the Education Department, the vacant posts in the schools of remote and inaccessible areas will be filled in the first phase.

State Public Service Commission has recruited 2375 posts in five years from 2018 to January 2023. Recruitment is pending for 1097 posts. Hamirpur Staff Selection Commission has recruited 15,706 posts in 5 years. Harshvardhan Chouhan told that the recruitment process of Public Service Commission is very slow.
Shimla, April 24 – The Public Service Commission is able to recruit only on an average 450 to 500 posts in a year. It takes a lot of time to release the advertisement, conduct the written test and then conduct the interview. Hamirpur Staff Selection Commission recruits on an average 3,000 posts in a year. In such a situation, more than 3500 posts are not being filled in a year through both the recruitment agencies.
The cabinet sub-committee has considered how to speed-up this process. Many posts of teachers are vacant in educational institutions. A policy will be made for the recruitment of teachers in the difficult areas of Chamba, Kangra, Mandi, Kullu, Lahaul, Bharmour and Sirmaur. 1 lakh 12 thousand posts are approved in the education department. Of these, 20 thousand posts are vacant. Immediately the policy will be made and the matter will be taken to the cabinet so that the education of the children is not affected
