Bus Fare Hike in Himachal an Attack on Public Pocket: Anurag Thakur

Hamirpur, 8 May 2025 – Former Union Minister and MP from Hamirpur, Anurag Singh Thakur, has slammed the Himachal Pradesh Congress government over the recent steep hike in bus fares. Calling it an “open loot from the people’s pockets,” Thakur accused the government of burdening citizens with anti-people decisions. He highlighted the 15% fare hike in HRTC buses and criticized rising costs in basic services including fuel, cement, and public transport. Thakur said the government has failed to fulfil pre-poll guarantees and pushed the state into a debt trap while ignoring the plight of common people struggling with inflation.
